Fresh, wholesome, organic goodness made daily. We feature some of the finest local ingredients and prepare most everything in our deli from scratch. We offer an organic salad and soup bar; made-to-order sandwiches; grab-and-go side dishes; and all kinds of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices. You are sure to find what you are craving. We also take special orders. With 72 hours notice, we can accommodate most requests.
We only source 100% Certified Organic Produce. In 2000, we became the first certified organic grocery store in the United States. Our produce manager has been cultivating relationships with local farmers for over twenty-five years.

In our meat department, we very carefully select our suppliers to offer you humanely raised, Non-GMO fed, and free range options. We prefer to work with family farmers and ranchers who care not only about the animals they raise, but also the land they use, and the communities they support. You can easily taste the difference between pork, beef, and chicken that is sustainably raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, or additives. We also offer a variety of marinated meats and homemade sausages great for the barbecue or for a ready to cook meal.
At Wild Roots Market, we only source sustainable seafood. You won’t find unsustainable “red labeled” fish in our stores, EVER! We work very closely with our suppliers to ensure all of our labels contain everything a customer needs to make an informed choice. We list catch methods, farmed or wild caught, and country of origin. We try to source as much as we can from local fisheries and have partnered with Santa Cruz based suppliers to ensure we provide the freshest fish we can bring to market from the Monterey Bay.
Wild Roots Market’s own in-house bakery, Sunflour Bakehouse, features made-from-scratch cookies, muffins, and pastries that are out of this world. We use organic ingredients and bake fresh daily. The deli can also take special orders for baked goods, give us a 72-hour notice and we can accommodate most requests.

Whether you are a novice cheese buyer or a connoisseur, Wild Roots Market offers a wide variety of specialty cheeses from around the world sure to please any palette. Many factors affect the flavor of cheese. The type of milk used, the animal’s diet, and the techniques of the cheese maker all combine to make the individual versions of cheese varieties unique. Our focus is to provide Artisan Cheeses that pair well with different wines and an assortment of crackers, jams and preserves.

The Santa Cruz Mountains is fortunate to be one of the premier AVAs (American Viticulture Area) for wine grapes, especially Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Our unique terrior rivals many of the larger wine producing regions in the state and around the globe. Most of the vintners we assort from are small specialty “boutique” wineries. We also carry a wide assortment of Biodynamic and Certified Organic wines.
We also offer an extensive selection of Micro Brews and Hard Ciders from around town and around the globe. Our buyers are constantly on the lookout for new and exciting flavors and variations surely to tempt your taste buds.
