Blue Heron Farms

Some of their flower varieties are the same ones Dennis grew with Chadwick at UCSC. Now operated by Dennis and his wife Lori Perry, Blue Heron is driven by the hard work of a wonderful group of workers from Jalisco and Michoacan, Mexico, as well as a dedicated flower crew and marketing staff, headed by Kelly Brown. The farm is additionally blessed with a cool climate, soft soil, and surrounding live oaks and habitat that is home to deer, bobcats, and coyotes. Although the work is demanding, those at Blue Heron are fortunate to be farming on the Central Coast, where people value organics.


They dedicate about four of their 20 acres to a diverse assortment of organically grown annual and perennial flowers. Their crew of experienced farmer-florists provide flowers to customers through farmers markets, grocery stores, and special orders.


They also grow a large variety of vegetables, specializing in little gems, sprouting broccoli and other crops that appreciate the mild climate.
